This is my story and experience: I was the primary caregiver for my parents at the same time. Both were diagnose 4 months apart with dementia. I went through several aids and several agencies. I decided to give this newly established Home care agency a try.
This agency sent me a nursing student ( Peter) that was caring and loving in every way possible. He had an instant connection with my father, they both loved German shepherds.
Peter would talk to my dad each day about raising and training Shepherd’s pups, he would then ask my dad to write each step down so that ( Peter) would not forget when his puppies were born.
Each day my dad would sit and look out the window anticipating the arrival of his aid ( Peter) who instantly became a part of our family. Peter never missed a day while working on my dads case stating that he did not want to disappoint him especially at that crucial part of my dads life.
Peter (Nursing student) who is now a Doctor of Gerontologist.
